Winnsboro Center for the Arts to Construct New Education Building

The Winnsboro Center for the Arts (WCA), a vital multidisciplinary arts hub serving Northeast Texas, is set to expand with a new education building. Located on Market Street, WCA anchors the Cultural District, offering diverse entertainment, educational programs, and cultural events. Due to consistent growth in recent years, WCA has faced significant space constraints, hindering its ability to fully meet community needs.

The Vision for Expansion

This expansion on Market Street is envisioned as a catalyst, attracting both residents and visitors to gather and enjoy the offerings of a new pedestrian zone.

Phase I: New Education Building

The first phase of WCA's expansion will involve the construction of a state-of-the-art education building. This facility will include a ceramics studio, multiple classrooms, dedicated independent study areas, and a specially designed space for children's activities, classes, and special events. The estimated cost for Phase I is approximately $3.5 million.

Phase II: Performing Arts Center

Following Phase I, WCA plans to build a beautiful Performing Arts Center in Phase II. This center will feature flexible seating arrangements, allowing for a wide range of activities beyond traditional concerts and theater performances.

Phase III: Original Building Renovation

Phase III will focus on the renovation of WCA's original building at 200 Market Street. This renovation will provide additional space for exhibitions, further enhancing the center's capacity.
